The Collection: A Visual and Written Anthology
The High Impact Online Teaching and Learning course (HIOTLP) provided the opportunity to approximately 200 faculty and educational professionals as they transitioned to online learning during the COVID-19 pandemic. Participants in HIOTLP participated in an online course and were provided with relevant resources and promising practices. After the course was finished participants were asked to summarize their findings and share them with the Gardner Institute. We are here to share those submissions with you all.
Welcome to The Collection!
The Collection consists of 10 Case Studies and 6 videos. The Collection is a work in progress. Check back for updates including more videos, case studies, and narratives. The Gardner Institute will open up submissions for further editions of The Collection.
We would like to thank all of the participants of the HIOTLP course. We thank course facilitators Dr. Stephanie M. Foote and Dr. Monica Flippin Wynn. We would like to recognize Brittany Connor for her design work. We would like to acknowledge Dr. Monica Flippin Wynn for her leadership in getting this Collection published.
Congratulations to all involved!
The Gardner Institute in collaboration with the United Negro College Fund (UNCF) offered a late summer or a pre-fall High Impact Online Teaching and Learning course. The course was designed to prepare Historically Black Colleges and Universities (HBCU) faculty to teach online classes confidently. I have to confess that it turned out to be that online teaching is fun and it was a very positive experience and it was much better than I expected.

“The HIOTLP course provided great resources and tools to improve my skills regarding online teaching and learning. It made me think more about the importance of encouraging complete student engagement and looking for ways to empower students to take ownership of the class. ”
