Felita T. Williams, PhD is the Senior Vice President for Services at the Gardner Institute. Previously she was Vice Chancellor for Student & Faculty Success at the University System of Georgia (USG). Her passion for education is best described by a quote from Texas congresswoman Barbara Jordan - “Education remains the key to both economic and political empowerment.” It is her belief in this simple statement that keeps her motivated and working in higher education.
Felita Williams has over 25 years of experience in higher education, including roles in faculty and administrative ranks; at the institutional level and at the System level. In addition, Dr. Williams has served as the key USG staff person responsible for Gateways to Completion (G2C), an initiative in partnership with the Gardner Institute, and a key component to the University System of Georgia’s Momentum Approach. A native of Tuscaloosa, Alabama, Dr. Williams received her Doctor of Philosophy in Political Science from The University of Alabama, Tuscaloosa, Alabama. Dr. Williams enjoys reading, walking, watching movies and Ted Talks.
