Dr. Kristen Seas Trader is the Gardner Institute's Director of Program Design. In her role, she collaborates with leadership and staff to guide the design and development of the participant experience across engagement options and ensure alignment of all programming with the broader goals of Transforming the Postsecondary Experience™.
Kristen Seas Trader brings over 20 years of experience in higher education and expertise in strategic design to her work at the Gardner Institute. Her approach to program design is informed by her first-hand experience as a graduate instructor, faculty member, academic support staff, and instructional designer at a range of institutions – from a nationally ranked R1 and regional state universities to a small liberal arts university and an open-access community college. She also draws on her doctoral training in Rhetoric at Purdue University to design participant-focused learning experiences that thoughtfully honor the expertise of our institutional partners, acknowledge the complexity of systemic change, and support the professional development of those who have a direct hand in transforming the student experience to improve outcomes.
