She has worked closely with instructors and peers on campus during her time as a peer mentor at the University’s Accelerated Transfer Academy to help promote servant leadership and student engagement. Sigfreda has given back to her community in Houston by volunteering with Houston’s international mentorship organization, PAIR, which allows high school students with refugee status to have access to a qualified mentor from their community for a full school year. Sigfreda is passionate about community investment and educating underserved populations, she plans to use her time with the Gardner Institute to foster leadership, inclusion, and critical problem-solving for tomorrow’s academic achievers.
