We’re thrilled to announce that Cindy Kane has joined the Gardner Institute as Associate Vice President, effective June 1, 2025.

Her deep knowledge of the Gardner Institute’s work and proven leadership of student success work at institutions for over 25 years make her an ideal fit to help advance our Transformation Vision. Cindy’s most recent role was as Assistant Provost for Strategic Initiatives at Bridgewater State University. One example of Cindy’s leadership of student success efforts at the institutional level includes leading the “Transforming the Foundational Postsecondary Experience” Initiative. Her experience will be invaluable as we expand our work through the Transformation Process.
Her many awards and accolades include being awarded the ACUI (Association of College Unions International) 2015 Dissertation of the Year, receiving the 2016 NACA (National Association for Campus Activities) Founders Award, and being named an American Council on Education Fellow in 2016-17 (her host institution was Wheaton College). She is also the co-PI on a grant from the Davis Educational Foundation focused on expanding the impact of OER (Open Educational Resources) on Bridgewater State University.
