Dr. Kristen Trader named as new Instructional Designer at the Gardner Institute

Dr. Kristen Seas Trader brings 20 years of experience in higher education serving as a faculty member, academic support staff, and instructional designer.

Brevard, NC, October 23, 2023

The John N. Gardner Institute for Excellence in Undergraduate Education (Gardner Institute) is pleased to announce that Dr. Kristen Trader has joined us in the new role of Instructional Designer.

Kristen earned her PhD in Rhetoric and Composition from Purdue University and taught writing for 15 years before transitioning into instructional design to support her colleagues in applying evidence-based practices and inclusive design in their courses. In her free time, she gardens whenever the Wisconsin seasons allow, plays board games with her husband and 10-year-old son, and has recently surprised herself by taking up crocheting.

Trader begins her new position with the Gardner Institute on October 23, 2023.
