Brevard, NC, July 8, 2025 –
At the John N. Gardner Institute for Excellence in Higher Education (Gardner Institute), we believe leadership is rooted in purpose, innovation, and a commitment to transforming institutions and systems so every student can thrive. This is our Transformation Vision. As we grow, we’re excited to welcome new team members whose expertise and passion will help advance this vision.
“I’m very pleased to announce that Jen has joined the Gardner Institute team as our Director of Engagement. She will help us engage more broadly and deeply with the participants, institutions, and systems involved in our transformation work. Deeper engagement is essential to the long-term change needed for all students and institutions to thrive, and Jen is exactly the right person to help us do that,” Andrew (Drew) Koch, PhD, CEO of the Gardner Institute.
Jen Bechtold brings nearly two decades of progressive leadership experience in higher education and nonprofit advancement. Most recently, she has served as Executive Director and Assistant Provost for Student Success & Career Development at Otterbein University, where she has led major initiatives related to retention, experiential learning, and employer partnerships.
As Director of Engagement, Jen will lead the coordination of our sales efforts and work alongside our marketing and communications team. Her leadership will enhance our ability to broaden the reach and impact of the Transformation Process, helping ensure that all students have the opportunity to graduate.
“I look forward to the opportunity to develop partnerships with institutional leaders who believe in the transformative power of higher education for all students. The Gardner Institute has always been a leader in student success, and I am grateful for the ability to work alongside the outstanding team at the Institute.” Jen Bechtold
As we expand our reach and deepen our mission, we’re committed to growing a team that leads with purpose, because that’s how real, lasting change happens.
