ABG and Gardner Institute host Governing Board Equity in Student Success Seminar

“We In September, the Association of Governing Boards and the John N. Gardner Institute for Excellence in Undergraduate Education hosted the second Governing Board Equity in Student Success Seminar in Kentucky. This project funded by Ascendium Education gathered institutions to discuss the role of Governing boards in development of student success. Participants included:

  • Bellarmine University

  • Berea College

  • Kentucky Community & Technical College System  (KCTCS)

  • Spalding University

  • Thomas More University

  • Transylvania University

  • University of Louisville

This second annual seminar featured several sessions including a plenary on Leading Consequential Change: The Student Success Imperative with Dr. Leo Lambert, President Emeritus, Elon University. 

 

Vicki McGillin, Vice President at the Gardner Institute says, “Leo Lambert talk about how equitable student success is not “another” thing that Boards must concern themselves with, it is “the” thing. He also urged Boards and leadership teams to ask bold and penetrating questions to get to the heart of the student success pathways at their institutions.”
