Spring Course – Teaching for Impact

Teaching for Impact focuses on evidence-based practices shown to have a positive impact on student learning outcomes while also enriching the teaching experience. The emphasis is on tangible, student-centered strategies for designing and delivering courses with a rotating thematic focus reflecting current trends and concerns in higher education. The theme for the spring is on (Re)Engaging Our Students and Ourselves

Dates: March 17-April 28, 2025

Summer Signature Course – The Humanity of Inclusive Practices

Through an introduction to theoretical frameworks and practice-based examples, participants are invited to reimagine their courses, toward the goal of creating deeper educational experiences that recognize the value and potential of every student while fostering an inclusive and responsive learning environment. During this course, participants identify a specific area of focus and create (and present) a Gallery Walk presentation that highlights the approach they will take as they move forward.

Dates: July 7-18, 2025

The Teaching and Learning Community meets every 4-6 weeks during the academic year, providing a virtual space where participants can receive support in their teaching practice.

Discussions during the community meetings are facilitated by the Teaching and Learning Fellows and center on topics that are of interest to the participants.

Topics for this year include: alternative approaches to grading/ungrading, feedback, fostering deeper learning and engagement through beautiful questions, mental health and well-being (student and faculty).

Participants who register for all three courses have access to a year-long Community of Practice.

Dates: September 2024-August 2025
